Now that you have heard my story, I wanted to share with you the stories of other entrepreneurs I admire.  It's amazing to watch their growth over time.  Here is a recap of how I have used the power of video to grow my own business.  Your journey is about to begin...
Section 2: The Message: Understanding The Power of Video

There is no better time than RIGHT NOW to start creating your own video content.  Billions of people are coming online in the next few years, so start practicing and producing videos so you can build your online presence.  Here are some of the BEST reasons to get started today.  Enjoy!

In case you were not sure about the necessity of creating videos to promote yourself, your business or your brand, then we would like you to consider all the reasons why it's a GREAT time to start producing videos NOW.  Take a moment and write down your motivation to make your own videos.  Are you wanting to broaden your reach?  Refine your message?  Land a spot on TV as a guest expert?  Share your goals in the comments below.

If you have longed to create videos, but never managed to make them happen, fear not, you are not alone.  Getting started can be overwhelming.  Here are some of the reasons why people STOP before they START.  By declaring your obstacles, you release the power they hold over you.  So, what has stopped YOU in the past?  If you care to confess, please share in the comments below. Then you can kick that hesitation to the ground forever.  Yes you can!

Now is the time for you to voice all the reasons that have stopped you from creating great videos. By taking a moment to get all your fears, hesitation and overwhelm out on the table, you are actually releasing hidden tension you may have around the subject.  Write down your list and then proudly walk it over to the nearest shredder.  Good-bye fear and hesitation... hello FUN!
Section 3: The Message: Crafting Your Content

Time to get creative! I know it may be overwhelming when you are thinking about what types of video to create, but the good news is that there are many different types to choose from, In this lesson, I show you just a few options that work for almost any course or website.

Let's review...  Here are some of the examples of types of videos.  These examples are from some of my favorite personalities and business leaders online.  I invite you to check out their work and find people who work and videos you admire.  Let us know your favorites in the comments below!
Now it's time to get specific.  The more you understand your ideal customer and can describe them in detail, the better you will understand who they are.  When you are speaking on camera, the trick is to pretend to be speaking to ONE PERSON.  That person is your ideal customer!  Connect with them on a personal level, and you will convey all you need to and more.  Who is your ideal customer?  Let us know in the comments!
Let's review...  Here are the basic guidelines to follow to identify your ideal viewer.  Remember, when you are connected to the single most person you are speaking to, your attention is on THEM, not YOU.  Your message will be clear, connected and compelling.  See for yourself!
Section 4: The Message: Ready, Set, Action
Now it's time to push the record button and start speaking.  Inevitably, this is the point that most people dread.  Not to worry, with practice, this becomes as easy as breathing.  With proper preparation, delivering your content is FUN.  Here are some of my best tips to be comfortable in front of the camera.  Let us know what tips YOU use!
Again, once you are prepared, you can have fun in the moment.  Review the following reminders as you prepare to shoot your videos.  With time, all of these tips will be second nature...  Try them and see for yourself!
It is my pleasure to introduce you to Robert LaPorta.  He is the man responsible for helping me with my video production work to date.  You can read more about him and see his professional video work at:  rowfourproductions.com

Section 6: The Media: Setting Up
No need to hire a fancy production company to shoot your videos!  In this lecture you will learn exactly what you will need to become your own one-stop production company.  These suggestions will get you started, but you should always feel free to improvise.  What device are you using?  Any tips to share on how you typically create video?  Any areas of particular concern?  Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Section 7: The Media: Video Settings
It's time to learn the video settings on your device.  In this lecture we are focusing on shooting video with an iPhone or an iPad, but it's a very similar process if you are using any Smartphone.  In this lecture, we will review the front and rear facing lenses, the microphones, the necessary settings to avoid unwanted interruptions, and the place you will find your video footage.  It's your personal road map to being your own director, producer, editor and publisher.

For those of you who are not as familiar with your video settings on your iPhone, this lecture will walk you through all the essential information that you need to know.  Have any additional questions?  Feel free to ask in the comments below!

If you are ready to take your video to the next level, then feel free to explore the world of apps.  In this lecture, you will learn how to use Filmic Pro.  With this app, you can adjust your frame rate and control white balance and exposure.  These modifications can enhance your ability to shoot just about anywhere.  Do you have an app that you love?  Let us know in the comments below!
Section 8: The Media: The Location
Every detail in your video sends a message to your audience, so be sure to give careful consideration to the background of your video. In this lecture you will see how your environment tells a story.  When you align your message with your setting, the viewer just 'gets" you.  Watch and see how the location can either help or hurt a video's effectiveness.

While it may be tempting to find an incredibly cool location for your video shoot, remember how important it is for you to access this location EASILY.  Ideally, you will find a spot that supports your business (in that it makes sense) and is not distracting to the viewer.  Clean, simple, comfortable and easily accessible.  Have a spot in mind?  Let us know in the comments below!
Some final words to inspire you...
Section 9: The Media: The Sound
The quality of a video is often determined by the quality of the sound.  We are more likely to forgive amateur footage if the audio is crisp and clear.  Here are some techniques to improve sound quality without needing expensive professional equipment.  We will be examining your environment, your settings and your accessories to capture the best sound quality possible.  Any suggestions we haven't thought of?  Please share your insights in the comments below.  Thanks!
Section 10: The Media: The Lighting
Every actor knows the importance of "finding your light".  It's that perfect spot where your face is wonderfully illuminated .  While you may not have a professional lighting kit hanging around, you do have the ability to find the best natural light in any given location.  In this lecture you will learn how to position your device, so you can shine like a movie star.

In this video you will see a demonstration of how to find your ideal light in an office environment.  By using the front facing camera, you will be able to see for yourself, which camera position gives you the best lighting.  Check it out!

Once you have located your ideal lighting, take a moment to check the frame for any distracting lighting elements behind you.  In this video we demonstrate how to make adjustments to the room so as not to distract your audience.  Never under estimate attention to detail!

OK.  You're ready to start shooting.  Feel free to go back and review the performance reminders, but we felt it was time you deserved a little pep talk.  Enjoy.

Section 11: The Media: Post-Production
In this lecture we explore how you can capture different looks through an app called Magic Bullet Movie Looks.  With this app, you can choose one of many filters to enhance and create an entirely different look with your footage.  Explore and have fun!
Here is a brief recap to show you the various filters in action.  As you can see, there are quite a few to choose from!  What's your favorite?
Once you have shot your videos, you will need to know what to do with them!  File management is critical to avoid footage overwhelm.  In this lecture we will show you how to manage the video clips from deleting takes you will not use, locating them on your device, uploading them to your computer and basic filtering and editing options.  It's amazing what your device is capable of once you learn how to do it!
Now that you have shot so many brilliant videos, you will need to know what to do with them.  In this video, you will learn where to find your footage, both filtered and unfiltered.  There are also tips on avoiding footage overload and best practices to keeping your video takes under control.  No need for footage overwhelm!

While it may be tempting to download your video files into your iTunes or iPhoto account, here is where you will learn the power of Image Capture.  It is critical that you learn how to manage these files easily and independently from your personal pictures and videos.  See for yourself how easy it is to manage this new system!

Good job!  What we have reviewed in this series of lectures is more than enough information to get you started, but please feel free to improvise along the way!  We welcome your feedback, your tips and suggestions as you start producing your own videos.  As an added bonus, we are including some additional resources for you to continue learning on your own.  Have fun and get shooting!

Section 15: The Marketing: WordPress
Content Management Systems (CMS) like WordPress makes our lives much easier by giving us a website with a user interface that allows us to add and edit content in a visual and easy way. This is another powerful tool that empowers you to create online... all by yourself.
Plugins give our websites custom functionality that makes it easier to deliver and share our content online.
Section 16: The Marketing: Sharing and Social Media
Social Networks & Sites are the platforms on which we spread the word and expand our reach with videos and content. It is also where we find our audience and new followers.  Knowing these social networks and how they work allows us to focus on the ones that can benefit us most and help us produce better results with less effort.
We can't assume our site visitors will make an effort to copy our page's web address (url) and paste it into their Facebook status to share our content and videos.  We need to make it as easy and effortless as possible for them to share with a click of a button. That is where Share Buttons & Widgets come in.

And, if we want them to take an action on a specific page, Call to Actions are the way to do it. Remember, higher conversion rates are the goal.
Here you'll find links to some basic and useful Plugins for WordPress to make sure your site has the essential components to display and share your videos.
