Frequently asked questions
Routing is the practice of sending incoming traffic to another location on the network for the sake of reducing network traffic. A router analyzes the TCP/IP packet and determines the correct network segment and destination with the help of the routing table, which stores all of the network's possible destinations. Similarly, switches also route traffic. This approach is much more efficient than using hubs, which broadcasts the traffic to all segments of the network.
