About me
Vitaly Kirkpatrick is an NIR technology consultant and founder of SpectroScience, with more than a decade of experience helping food and agriculture professionals get reliable, actionable results from near-infrared measurement systems.
His path into NIR spectroscopy is anything but conventional. He began in the culinary arts — graduating top of his class — where precision in measurement wasn't theoretical. It was the difference between a product that worked and one that didn't. That foundation in practical quality systems carried through into electronics engineering and computer science, which gave him the technical depth to understand how NIR instruments actually work. He added an MBA to connect the technology to the business decisions that depend on it.
That combination — food science, engineering, and business — is what sets this course apart from anything else available on NIR spectroscopy.
Vitaly works directly with grain handlers, dairy processors, feed manufacturers, and food production facilities across North America, training professionals and advising on measurement strategy. He does not teach theory for its own sake. Every concept in this course connects to a real decision someone in food or agriculture has to make — and he has seen those decisions go right and wrong firsthand.
His belief is simple: NIR technology is only as valuable as the person operating it understands it. This course exists to close that gap.
