Sara Tamarin Academy offers courses in art history, archaeology, and the history of ancient and medieval civilizations, with a focus on Anatolia and the Mediterranean world.
Our courses explore how cultures develop across time — from Neolithic settlements and early urban societies to the complex religious and artistic systems of the Byzantine period.
We combine archaeology, historical context, and visual analysis to help students understand not only what happened in the past, but how meaning was created and expressed through material culture and images.
Special attention is given to Christian iconography, particularly the representation of the Virgin Mary, as well as the cultural and symbolic connections between ancient civilizations and later religious traditions.
