Dr. Michiel Frederick Coetzer is a qualified Industrial and Organizational Psychologist, a Master HR professional, a published author, and a certified Neuro-Leadership coach. He is a pracademic with well-balanced experience in both academia and practice. Dr. Coetzer has more than 17 years experience in organizational psychology, organizational development, leadership development, coaching, consulting, human resource management, talent management, and learning and development.
He holds a PhD degree in Leadership, a Master’s degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and completed a brain-based coaching certificate with the Neuroleadership Institute.
Presently, Dr. Coetzer is employed as an Associate Professor at Universidad de las Américas (UDLAP) in Mexico. He is also a faculty member at the University of Stellenbosch Business School for Executive Development (USB-ED) in South Africa and a Guest Lecturer at the ESB Business School in Germany.
Previously, Dr. Coetzer was a Strategy and Finance Coach at an entrepreneurial incubation company in South Africa and the Head of Organizational Effectiveness (and acting HR Executive) at an international construction and mining company. Earlier in his career, he was the HR and Business Development Director at a furniture manufacturing and retail company and a Psychometrist at an Assessment Centre in South Africa.
He received a Golden Key Award from the Golden Key International Honor Society for top academic achievement during his PhD studies. One of his published articles also received the award for the best published paper in an international peer-reviewed journal. Dr. Coetzer furthermore served as an official member of the Forbes Coaches Council in 2020.
He presented papers at national and international conferences and published articles in scientific and non-scientific journals and online platforms. He also published a chapter in an international leadership book and self-published a book entitled Leading Business Beyond Profit.
