I'm Melissa Powell, and I've had the kind of career that doesn't fit neatly on a business card. I hold degrees in architecture, construction management, and international business. I've built multiple companies and consulted globally with entrepreneurs, C-suite executives, and government agencies.
But here's what actually matters: I've been the person who looked successful and realized the path I was on wouldn't give me the happiness I desired. I've navigated very different cultures with very different ideas about what it means to "make it." And I've learned — sometimes painfully — that the conventional success formula doesn't work for most people, including me.
This course comes from a talk I gave at the University of Technology, Jamaica. I expected it to be a standard orientation session. It turned into something completely different. That's why it's here now.
