Ashish Runthala is an Associate Professor at the Department of Biotechnology, School of Science & Humanities, SR University. He completed his PhD studies in Enzyme Engineering and Bioinformatics at BITS Pilani, Pilani Campus, India. He was awarded the Ucchayatar Avishkar Yojana (UAY) fellowship at the Indian Institute of Science in 2017. He recently led the projects "Design and Development a statistical scoring system against a library of Multi-Epitope based Peptide (MEBP) vaccine constructs to identify best vaccine candidates", and "Construction and Validation of Functionally Improved Bacterial Pyrophosphatase by Spanning its Conformational Landscape". He has published 29 papers in various journals and 1 edited book for Springer Nature. He serves as the editorial board member for Scientific Reports and is a reviewer of prestigious journals published by Elsevier, Wiley, MDPI, and Taylor & Francis. His teaching disciplines include bioinformatics, computer programming, and design thinking. His research interests include computational and bioinformatics algorithms, enzyme engineering, and metabolic pathway analysis.
