This session will be simple but it will not be easy. One of the hardest parts of personal branding is being able to "see" yourself. This session will start you down that path.
Starting with this session, we begin to take an in-depth look at ourselves; our strengths and our traits. Our strengths and our traits are key to how we do things, why we gravitate towards certain activities and interests and what people say about us when we are not in the room.
To assist with the self assessment, we will enlist the assistance of others to help us as well. This part is key and not to be skipped. Hearing how others view you can be a turning point for you. It will either reinforce something you already know or it may take you in a completely different direction. Either way it is very eye opening. Are you ready?
Documenting your progress is an important part of the process from this point forward. This is a quick video to walk you through how to use the worksheets.
As I was going through this process, I found myself wanting a little more "scientific" information. You may find yourself in this position as well. |Section 3: Achieve - Begin using your brand to your advantage|
Beginning with this lesson, we start to pull together the information we have gathered about our brand to date. It is in this lesson where we will begin for the first time to see ourselves as a brand.
You may struggle with this lesson as it can be a bit overwhelming. I recommend watching it once before you start the worksheets, then as often as necessary while you complete the worksheets in order to hone in on your brand.
Once you know your brand, you need to be able to communicate it in a meaningful way, both to yourself and to others. Your brand message will serve as a starting point for this communication, but it also serves another purpose that if followed can make a huge difference for you.
You see the brand message is more than an elevator pitch or a tagline. Your brand message, if crafted correctly, can serve as a starting point for future decisions you make both personally and professionally.
In this final lesson, we learn about the "Now what?" that I see missing from so many other personal branding lessons. In this lesson, you'll learn the single best way to leverage and control your brand online.
