The first video in our training starts with basics of preparation. We will look at a driving scenario as well as dressing for the cold weather, clearing your car and preparing a winter survival kit.
This training video dives into deeper concepts of tires, traction, adhesion limits and weight transfer. We break down this understanding so you can make better decisions while driving in adverse conditions.
Just as the video title describes, this part of the training is so important in building understanding of the technology your vehicle has, how hit works and how it helps and hurts you in adverse weather.
In the final video we pull all of the information and discuss over steer, under steer and most importantly what you can do in a loss of control situation. We break down 4 excersises you can practice to build confidence and undersatnding during loss of control situations.
I was a Police Officer for 7 years. During this time I learned a lot about driving behavior, distraction and inexperience that lead to hundreds of accidents. I resigned in 2006 to work toward my MBA and find a better solution to the problem of unsafe driving. In 2009 I graduated with my master's degree and built the Enhanced Driving Institute from the ground up. Within three years we were the top driving school in SE Minnesota and now provide training for teen drivers, senior citizen driving assessments, defensive driving courses as well as our winter driving course. We teach over 1000 students a year and our referral rate is over 70%.
I designed this online course after many requested an online option. This course is an impressive blend of my passion for road safety and excellent tips on how to build your confidence when the roads are slick.
