How to use MyBlogU "Brainstorm" feature?
5 Lectures 11:09

Use MyBlogU Brainstorm feature to let our members help you if you are stuck or suggest unique angles for your upcoming article. That's how we help you stand out!

The general overview of "Brainstorm" feature

We welcome and help everyone but we do have quolity guidelines for some sections of our site to ensure high standards!

What are MyBlogU quality guidelines?

While not limiting your options, let’s list some examples of brainstorm request you could post here.

Feature Options

  • You can make your project “public”: That means others will be able to share it on social media and non-registered users will be able to see the project title, description and the associated blog. Search engines will be able to crawl that information as well (if they follow social media links, for example).
  • Please approve ideas you are receiving: This way your helper’s rank and thus authority will be growing within MyBlogU (We are working to incorporate @MyBlogU user rank into many section giving higher-ranked members more benefits)
  • If you used the idea in your content and especially if you in any way referenced the idea author in your article, please provide the URL. This way your own @MyBlogU rank will increase as well. Moreover, this way you’ll encourage your helper to share that URL around as well (more social media shares => More exposure and traffic!)
  • You can access all the older ideas in “My Brainstorms” section. It is highly possible that you may use one idea on one blog and another idea would result in another article on your other blog/column. It is not required that you use all the ideas on the project-assigned blog, of course. But please do keep your helpers updated on where their idea came in handy (that will be very encouraging for them and will build stronger connections as well! Plus, again, more shares)
What to ask for in "Brainstorm" section (examples)

You can get cited by inspiring others: Grow your brand and earn references by being helpsful!
How to send awesome content ideas to get cited

MyBlogU lets you collect original ideas from real creative people and store them in your database. You can easily search your database to find an idea that sparkles your creativity at any time. You can also use the database as your writing productivity dashboard by adding ideas to your to-do lists and setting up reminders.
And it's free!

How to Use MyBlogU "Interviews" feature?
5 Lectures 11:15
The general overview of MyBlogU "Interviews" feature

1. Complete Your MyBlogU Profile

Completing MyBlogU profile will accomplish two important missions:

  • You’ll find more friends (Let’s face it: People don’t feel like interacting with default avatars. Plus, many people landing on your MBU profile page will click through social media profiles and follow you where they can!)
  • The authenticated social media accounts will automatically populate in “Interviews -> Add your answers” section which will give the interview host more reasons to assume you are a real expert (and follow you everywhere). On top of that, the interview host will be offered an option to include all your social media links into the published interview (which means more follows and exposure to your social media presence).

2. Enter Each Response EXACTLY as You Would Like It to Be Published

[Do your own editing!]

enter into the response is EXACTLY as I would like it to be published

You are not answering an email: You are providing an answer which is going to be published. So skip “hey there, nice to meet you.. here’s my answer…” part and go directly to the answer.

The more straightforward your answer is, the more chances you have to be included in the live article. @Don_Sturgill’s group interview is the perfect example of the really useful answers: GREAT job!

Don’t forget to proof-read and re-read before hitting “Next question” button!

Proof read!

3. Don’t Force It

We want you to love the process. If you can’t seem to know a good answer, give it some time. I like our @EP_pturner‘s approach:

I check MyBlogU every morning and afternoon. I check the forum, brainstorms and interviews for new help requests; none of the requests are urgent, but my brain multi-tasks and works away on these requests in the background.

I never reply immediately, but think about things for a few days and then start typing.

On the other hand, don’t feel bad about typing too much. Try to go as indepth as you can. If you are passionate about the topic, feel free to tell as much as you want.

Happy getting featured in expert interviews! You deserve being cited as an expert!

How to reply to MyBlogU Interview request

We were pursuing the following rules when creating the functionality:

  1. A group expert interview is aimed at providing an indepth well-structured article (which is easy to navigate and share)
  2. A group expert interview is aimed at offering more exposure to the participating thought leaders (increased following and more citations)
  3. A group expert interview is aimed at giving branding exposure to the interviewees AND social-assisted conversions for the publisher.
How to format your MyBlogU expert interview

MyBlogU allows you to collect expert quotes to use in your articles. This way is article is almost written for you by your contributors but you are still encouraged to format and edit the final piece to make it awesome.

Also, it is very important which questions you are asking. Open questions will prompt experts to provide longer answers. Also make sure you spur some contradiction or irony. Asking about personal experience always works great. Make sure to ask for specifics (tools, screenshots, etc) to get more details from your contributors.

Once you have enough answers, you can put them together in an article with one click of a mouse. Easy and free!

How to Create Great Expert Interviews by Asking Good Questions

MyBlogU is willing to help you on multiple levels: Develop your content, connect you to experts, help you brainstorm, and of course “socialize” your content by making it share-friendlier. Let’s see how you can get your page retweeted if you add a group interview component to your content

Social media marketer and entrepreneur

I've been doing content and social media marketing since 2007. I started as a blogger and newbie search and social media marketer and have changed quite a few roles on my way to the marketing excellence:

* Editor-in-Chief at SearchEngineJournal
* Director of Media at Search&Social
* Founder at MyBlogGuest
* Brand and Community Manager at InternetMarketingNinjas
* Co-founder of ViralContentBuzz
* Founder of MyBlogU

I have discovered and tested lots of content and social media marketing tactics and I am eager to show something I've learned over the years!

I started as an SEO, tried to be a link builder, then switched to social media marketing and professional blogging. Currently I specialize in blogging and content marketing. I am also good at personal branding and I'm considered a professional social media marketer. Thus my expertise includes:

* Search engine optimization
* Social media marketing
* Content marketing
* Personal branding
