What are MyBlogU quality guidelines?

While not limiting your options, let’s list some examples of brainstorm request you could post here.

Feature Options

  • You can make your project “public”: That means others will be able to share it on social media and non-registered users will be able to see the project title, description and the associated blog. Search engines will be able to crawl that information as well (if they follow social media links, for example).
  • Please approve ideas you are receiving: This way your helper’s rank and thus authority will be growing within MyBlogU (We are working to incorporate @MyBlogU user rank into many section giving higher-ranked members more benefits)
  • If you used the idea in your content and especially if you in any way referenced the idea author in your article, please provide the URL. This way your own @MyBlogU rank will increase as well. Moreover, this way you’ll encourage your helper to share that URL around as well (more social media shares => More exposure and traffic!)
  • You can access all the older ideas in “My Brainstorms” section. It is highly possible that you may use one idea on one blog and another idea would result in another article on your other blog/column. It is not required that you use all the ideas on the project-assigned blog, of course. But please do keep your helpers updated on where their idea came in handy (that will be very encouraging for them and will build stronger connections as well! Plus, again, more shares)

1. Complete Your MyBlogU Profile

Completing MyBlogU profile will accomplish two important missions:

  • You’ll find more friends (Let’s face it: People don’t feel like interacting with default avatars. Plus, many people landing on your MBU profile page will click through social media profiles and follow you where they can!)
  • The authenticated social media accounts will automatically populate in “Interviews -> Add your answers” section which will give the interview host more reasons to assume you are a real expert (and follow you everywhere). On top of that, the interview host will be offered an option to include all your social media links into the published interview (which means more follows and exposure to your social media presence).

2. Enter Each Response EXACTLY as You Would Like It to Be Published

You are not answering an email: You are providing an answer which is going to be published. So skip “hey there, nice to meet you.. here’s my answer…” part and go directly to the answer.

The more straightforward your answer is, the more chances you have to be included in the live article. @Don_Sturgill’s group interview is the perfect example of the really useful answers: GREAT job!

3. Don’t Force It

We want you to love the process. If you can’t seem to know a good answer, give it some time. I like our @EP_pturner‘s approach:

I check MyBlogU every morning and afternoon. I check the forum, brainstorms and interviews for new help requests; none of the requests are urgent, but my brain multi-tasks and works away on these requests in the background.

I never reply immediately, but think about things for a few days and then start typing.

On the other hand, don’t feel bad about typing too much. Try to go as indepth as you can. If you are passionate about the topic, feel free to tell as much as you want.

  1. A group expert interview is aimed at providing an indepth well-structured article (which is easy to navigate and share)
  2. A group expert interview is aimed at offering more exposure to the participating thought leaders (increased following and more citations)
  3. A group expert interview is aimed at giving branding exposure to the interviewees AND social-assisted conversions for the publisher.

MyBlogU allows you to collect expert quotes to use in your articles. This way is article is almost written for you by your contributors but you are still encouraged to format and edit the final piece to make it awesome.


Also, it is very important which questions you are asking. Open questions will prompt experts to provide longer answers. Also make sure you spur some contradiction or irony. Asking about personal experience always works great. Make sure to ask for specifics (tools, screenshots, etc) to get more details from your contributors.


Once you have enough answers, you can put them together in an article with one click of a mouse. Easy and free!
