Description

Meet Deborah and hear In the Garden all the way through in the Introduction video! This is a beautiful arrangement of In the Garden from the album My Father’s Favorite Hymns. It's also a top-seller sheet music download. The downloadable sheet music included in this course is for piano solo.

Deborah takes you up-close, demonstrating close ups of the right hand, left hand, then the pedal in every lesson and also includes videos to review each section. Deborah emphasizes playing with expressiveness, yet relaxed and with good technique.

Lessons learned throughout: Identify the ¾ time signature like an easy waltz. Deborah points out the introductory theme that repeats throughout the song. You’ll also immediately rehearse hand preparation in jumping octaves in the right hand.

Left hand positions are rehearsed in chord groups to make it easier to change positions quickly. When viewing each hand, Deborah talks you through fingering and technique. Some fingering is also included in the sheet music. There is specific emphasis on pedal technique for each section. Some pianists never learn to use the pedal correctly, playing with a blurry or choppy pedal. You will learn to do it correctly!

The piano solo sheet music is included as a download (in the last section) and also a downloadable practice chart. Each of the sections is divided up into 5 days of practice for the right hand, left hand, pedal, and hands together. If needed, you can always increase the number of days for any of the sections!

You can learn In the Garden as fast as you want. Some will be able to go faster than others. It is at the Easy-Intermediate level. With 15 minutes a day, depending on your personal ability, you can learn In the Garden in a month, or you can spread it out to six months!

Your success is Deborah's goal. She has been teaching for many years and knows her stuff! You'll enjoy her warm and engaging style. She loves music, the piano and her students. You will love her too!

Who is the target audience?
  • You don’t need to be an accomplished pianist to master playing In the Garden, which is at an Intermediate level.
  • For those who used to play and want to play again, Deborah helps you easily get those fingers working again with step-by step instruction with a warm, encouraging style.
  • For students, In the Garden is a beautiful performance piece to add to your repertoire with detailed instruction.
  • In the Garden is also perfect for intermediate-level church pianists looking for a melodic special-occasion solo.
  • In the Garden is perfect for homeschoolers who will love the step-by step instruction!
