This class is designed to introduce you to After Effects and teach you the core fundamentals of 2D/3D Animation. We will be exploring the After Effects Interface as well as the tools and effects to make your graphics come to life.

I will be using After Effects CS6, but the techniques and skill set you will learn applies to versions CS3 and up.

This course will be screen-capture video; giving you the opportunity to pause, jump over to After Effects, and work alongside with me. Or, if you prefer, just sit back and take notes.

Benjamin Ring, Motion Graphics and Visual Effects Artist

I am an Adobe Certified Expert with After Effects and have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Film and Video Production. I currently teach Motion Graphics, Visual Effects Compositing and Video Compression classes at Collins College in Tempe, Arizona. Since 2005 I have been designing Motion Graphics for companies, non-profit organizations, and online education curriculum. As a VFX artist, I’ve worked as a compositor for the short film, Out Of Focus (2012) directed by Remi Vaughn and am currently working on my own short film, The Painter And The Sky, written by Joanna S. Meyer.
