Description

This course is meant as a follow up or complement to your prior PHP learning. You should know the basics of PHP and SQL or be in the process of learning how to use PHP with a database. It assumes you are familiar with the basic syntax of PHP, variables, functions, conditional structures etc. and how to create tables, insert, delete, and update records via SQL (Structured Query Language) in a MySQL database server via PHP.

Who is the target audience?
  • You must be familiar with creating and debugging scripts using PHP and or MySQL before attempting to code this application. I make no attempt to explain every single line of code. I also assume that you know to consult the PHP or MySQL manuals if you see a PHP function, SQL command or error message that you are not familiar with; or use a search engine to locate further reference material.

Onaje Johnston Ph.D. has maintained a long interest in
programming since encountering the BASIC programming language in junior high school. She started working part time as a web developer after college and during graduate school and worked on several freelance projects. Onaje.com was the first website she published and it has always featured programming related tutorials. It has been sadly neglected for several years as she focused on teaching courses covering a variety of topics such as HTML&CSS, jQuery, JavaScript, ActionScript 3, C++, PHP, MySQL and Drupal. Onaje published her first programming book in 2011 and released an updated edition of it in 2013. Now that she is no longer teaching fulltime Onaje has a renewed interested in sharing her knowledge with others in as many forms of media as she can.
