As founder and Chief Exercise Officer of Fitwell Training Solutions, Valerie Merriweather is a sought-after speaker, entrepreneur, and consultant on health and wellness topics for time-pressed people. Valerie is passionate about helping busy women practice self-care, everyday. She received her B.S. from Howard University and a Master’s in Health Administration from The Ohio State University. She embarked on a journey in patient care and health administration until she found her true calling in the health and wellness field. Valerie was instrumental in leading wellness initiatives with Kaiser Permanente in Northern California, one of the largest HMOs in the country. While there, Valerie managed a complex of health education centers supporting 300,000 members.
Valerie holds personal training and health coaching certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine and the American Council on Exercise. Her clients include Discovery Communications, American Heart Association, and Duke University.
Valerie has made it her life’s mission to help women in all life stages be their best self. That means guiding women to discover what works best for them when it comes to health, fitness, and overall wellness. She is active in her community serving in a variety of capacities and serves on several community boards that focus on health and well-being for busy families.
Valerie’s accomplishments and contributions as a healthcare executive have been recognized by the White House State of Women. In her spare time, Valerie enjoys baking, traveling, reading, scrapbooking, and exercising. She considers it a blessing to be able to live out her passion, share it with her family, and spend time empowering people all over the world to practice wellness every day.
Valerie resides in North Carolina with her husband Kurt and their four amazing and very busy children!
