Terry is a comedian and award-winning writer for CBS, NPR, MTV, Scholastic, Time Magazine, Forbes Magazine, AT&T, Scholastic, Grey Advertising, McCann Worldgroup, Comedy Central, TV Land and MTV.
She started writing eulogies as the Managing Editor for TV Land Digital. TV Land airs classic television programs which were popular in the 60s, 70s & 80s. As the stars of these programs were passing away, Terry posted their death announcement on tvland's website.
Terry says, “These announcements became more than an obituary. I was often amazed at how a pattern of one’s life emerged —the twists and turns, opportunities given or missed, people they met, loved and cared for and the words and phrases that guided their destiny were affirmed. The stories shared by loved ones and colleagues revealed how they lived and how they touched people's lives. I began to weave these stories into eulogies or tributes.”
As the creative one in a family of seven siblings, Terry began to write eulogies for family, friends, friends of friends, sometimes perform the eulogy for those who were too fragile to speak.
Terry’s believes “everyone’s spirit is unique—just like a fingerprint—the end result of my writing is to bring that spirit front and center at a eulogy and to keep that spirit alive.”
Everyone should have their last gathering a memorable one, that’s why Terry wants to share her knowledge with you. Terry wants everyone to be sent off with a loving tribute that honors the persons’ legacy. And she makes it heart-warming and funny.
Terry’s goal is to have everyone leave the service knowing that person better and incorporating a sense of their spirit to all.
Terry lives in New York City where she performs comedy, writes eulogies and helps those suffering from grief and loss.
