Early in his career, the author has worked in a number of different types of companies, the range of which included English, American, Japanese and German companies and were involved in the Electronic, Health Care, and Computer Industry respectively. He founded and became the Managing Director of two innovative companies. In 1995 one of the companies won the New Company of the Year Award in Ireland. Over the last 20 years, the Author has lectured in the School of Business in Dundalk Institute of Technology in Ireland in the area of Business Computing.

Seamus currently has a Masters's Degree in Business Administration and a Masters's Degree in Computer Science. He is a Professional Member of the British Computer Society.
