The instructor is a professional engineer registered in the State of Washington in the USA and the province of British Columbia in Canada. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering and worked as a structural engineer at a consulting firm for about 6 years prior to his teaching career in a Civil Engineering Bachelor's program.

The instructor passed the PE Civil Structural exam on the first attempt while he was working at the consulting firm and doing his Ph.D. program simultaneously.
