About me
Micheaux is an award-winning actress and director with over three decades of experience in the entertainment industry. Micheaux began her career as an actress and quickly moved up the ranks to star in the series Lincoln Heights where she was nominated three years in a row for an NAACP Image Award as Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, and In the Dark. She’s best known for her work in HBO’s Six Feet Under, The Shield, and countless other shows.
As a director, Micheaux is an alumnus of the Disney/Fox Directing Program where she worked with ABC shows Detroit-187 and Castle. Micheaux’s directing debut, Summer of Violence, won numerous awards on the festival circuit, including Best Picture at the DTLA Film Festival and Outstanding First Feature at the Tallgrass Film Festival. The film was also nominated for Best Narrative Feature at the prestigious Austin Film Festival. As Micheaux also penned the script for Summer, this is a truly special recognition. Summer of Violence will be available in theaters and streaming in the Summer of 2024.
Micheaux earned her BA at the University of Colorado at Boulder where she focused on Political Science and Theater. Micheaux studied writing, producing, and directing at UCLA Extension, Sundance Collab, and Writers Boot Camp. Micheaux has studied with renowned acting studios such as: Richard Lawson, Larry Moss, Risa Bramon Garcia, and many more. Micheaux has been a working actor for over 30 years. She’s a divorced single mom of 2 and lives happily in Los Angeles frequenting museums whenever possible.
