Katie McKnight has been training dogs for a decade. She began her career working with shelter dogs and then moved into private dog training. Witnessing dogs being relinquished to a kill shelter was too painful. Katie wanted to help solve problems for families and their dogs before it got to the point where families surrendered their dogs.
In addition to ten years of professional dog training, Katie completed her studies through International School for Canine Psychology and Behavior and graduated as a Canine Behavioral Practitioner. She owns ISCDT - Dog Trainer program, where she teaches people how to train dogs professionally. Dog Savvy Kids is her other company. She visits schools, libraries and scouting events to teach children about dog safety.
Katie is also a Certified Dog Bite Prevention Educator, a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, Certified Dog Trainer in Public Access and is working on her certification in service dog training (tasks and jobs).
