Julie Francis has been in UX Research longer than she cares to admit (ok, fine, since the dotcom boom). Through her research consultancy, BellaVia Research, she helps clients get research insights to inform roadmap prioritization, innovation, and UX strategy. She taught a similar course to hundreds of UX Researchers during her nearly-5 years in-house at Meta Reality Labs. In addition to Journey Mapping, she loves nerding out about how to create good personas (not crappy made up ones) and Jobs to be Done.

Best practices for Journey Mapping was born from a talk that Julie and her then-client Jeanne Bard gave at UXPA. For that talk, Julie and Jeanne interviewed about 30 practitioners, to learn their advice for how to ensure journey maps are worth the time & effort they take to make. Since then, Julie has interviewed another 30-ish people and continues to learn so she can share with you. Her Journey Mapping workshop at Meta was taught via zoom & all over the world, and she even taught it once as an avatar in Virtual Reality!
