My name is Glenn "Buzz" Floyd, and I’m a veteran CFO and consultant with a passion for learning and teaching. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with a wide variety of privately held businesses, many of which are small or midsize, and highly leveraged (a significant portion of their cash was being used to pay down loans). I’ve collaborated with some of the brightest entrepreneurial minds in manufacturing, software development, construction, real estate development, distribution, and various service and retail sectors. With decades of experience as a controller, CFO, and consultant, I’ve seen it all.

Early in my career, I learned the importance of understanding a company’s cash position the hard way. I partnered with a division president of a Fortune 500 company to buy out a division of the company. Suddenly, the responsibility for making payroll and managing cash flow fell squarely on my shoulders. Gone were the days simply requesting funds from the corporate headquarters. After some sleepless nights and close calls, I realized the critical need for effective cash management tools.

While there are great courses on Microsoft Excel and financial modeling, I couldn’t find a resource that was specifically tailored toward managing cash flow. Out of necessity, I developed tools to manage working capital and learned how to navigate the complexities of cash flow management for privately held companies.
