I was taught at Rose Bruford Drama School (Gary Oldman, Stephen Graham and Tom Baker are just three famous graduates)in London. My Theatre Directors Course was run by the Head of the Directors Guild of Great Britain, Vladimir Mirodan, who taught that a director helps the actor find the part from within themselves. We all have the ability to play Mother Theresa or Hitler and every character in between and it's up to the director to help the actor find those key characteristics inside themselves.

I was taught by Vladimir how to bring Text to life through the use of images.

I was taught by acclaimed acting coach Jenny Lipman (Actors Studio, Central School) about the importance of Stanislavski wants based system. That as in life all characters have a want, we don't play emotions as actors, we play a characters want and if the character gets what they want, positive emotions will come naturally not forced and if they don't get what they want negative emotions will come naturally.

I was taught by Palme D'or winning directors Ken Loach's script editor Roger Smith, how to create drama using relationship exercises techniques employed by Ken Loach  and Mike Leigh

I was taught Laban technique that allows us to transform into a character with different rhythms than ourselves. If we aren't careful as an actor we will always play characters with the same physical and spoken rhythm, Laban allows us to change that rhythm and then Transform.

And I have spent 18 years running my own Dave Lovatts Acting Class for Adults, where you can find amazing reviews of my work on Facebook. In the class I only teach eight students at once, the classes are always sold out with beginners, intermediates, and professionals working alongside each other as my honed methods work for all abilities.

I feel that I have taken on the wisdom of my incredible tutors and honed that into an engaging, sometimes hilarious, always informative guide to get you to a professional acting ability quicker than any other teacher. I can safely say from the feedback and my own experience that, I am Brilliant!
