Dr. Amany Alkhayat is an expert in AI-powered immersive learning, conversational AI, and human-centered experience design. She teaches learners how to design engaging, ethical, and effective AI-driven educational experiences using embodied conversational agents, XR, and immersive technologies.
She earned her doctoral degree at Teachers College, Columbia University, where her research focused on embodied multimodal conversational AI in education, examining how immersive and human-centered AI systems can enhance learning, foster meaningful interaction, and authentic learner connection.
Dr. Alkhayat lectures internationally at the Media University of Applied Design in Berlin, where she teaches Conversational AI and AI Companion Design. She has also taught Human-Computer Interaction, UX Research, and XR Design at the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT).
She is the creator of the award-winning Mindflow VR application, recognized as the “Most Engaging App” by Ringling College of Art and Design, and has mentored students in Meta design sprints, developing AI companions for Meta’s ecosystem, including Meta Horizon Worlds.
Through her teaching and course design, Amany empowers learners to confidently build responsible, future-ready AI and immersive learning experiences that translate research into real-world impact.
