I’m a Principal Software Engineer and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) with over a decade of experience building, scaling, and securing production systems used by real customers at scale.
My work spans backend engineering, cloud infrastructure, system performance, and security. I currently own the architecture and reliability of a revenue-critical SaaS platform, working hands-on with technologies like Rust, PHP/Laravel, AWS (ECS, Aurora, VPC), and modern observability and security tooling.
Alongside engineering, I lead security and compliance efforts, including SOC 2 Type II readiness, cloud security architecture, and risk management—bridging the gap between secure design and practical engineering execution.
I started my career in civil engineering before transitioning into software, which strongly shapes how I teach: structured thinking, fundamentals first, and an emphasis on understanding why systems behave the way they do—not just how to use tools.
My courses focus on practical, production-grade engineering: writing performant backend services, designing scalable systems, making sound architectural decisions, and building secure software without unnecessary complexity.
