About me
Coaching is a challenge but also incredibly rewarding. When it goes well, when you have helped a child or an adult under your care to get better, when all of your hard work has resulted in success, when someone says thank you, you're on top of the world.
When you feel drained, when you’re out of ideas, when nothing you try seems to work and people just blame you, it can be a very dark and lonely place. In my 19 years’ of coaching, I have experienced plenty of the HIGHS and the LOWS. I have had those moments of pure joy when you see the smiles on the faces of the players you coach and I’ve been there when everything has gone wrong and you feel you have let everybody down.
I am a Coach Educator and Coach Mentor because I want YOU to have more of the rewarding moments and less of the down moments. I want you to wake up in the morning full of energy, excited about your day ahead, eager to get to the training pitch and bursting at the seems with self-belief.
I never set out to become a Coach Educator and Coach Mentor. I just wanted to Coach. I still Coach now and I love it, but whilst studying my UEFA B, I was asked by the Lead Tutor if I would consider a role with the English FA as a Coach Mentor. He felt that I had the attributes, knowledge and experience to help other coaches in their personal development.
At first I wasn’t sure. I was adamant that I wanted to continue my coaching journey and become the best coach that I possibly could. The Lead Tutor convinced me that I could do both. I could stay on my coaching journey to become the very best coach AND I could help other coaches on their journey. I am so pleased that I said yes.
I have worked with dozens of coaches in England and through my company Pro7 Soccer, I have mentored and educated coaches across the world from Australia to Africa and America to India. It’s been the most rewarding and fulfilling experience and I look forward to working with many more coaches in the years ahead.
