Guitar Fundamentals for Beginners is the first step in a series of courses for students to begin their journey into learning how to be a complete guitarist. This particular course teaches the basics from knowing the parts of the guitar to strumming and basic chords. You will also learn how to tune your guitar, and at the end, you'll know the basics needed to be a guitarist.
This course is for anyone who has ever dreamt of playing guitar or those who just want something to do for leisure. It is structured in a basic and easy to follow format. In order to complete this course, students will need their own guitar and pick to be able to follow along.

The Guitar Fundamentals Beginners series is designed to help students who have no experience with guitars or music to learn the basics of guitar playing. Students will learn everything from the set-up of the guitar, basic chords, and tuning through to playing your first song. You will learn all the necessary basics and techniques to get you on the road to becoming a complete guitarist able to play any style and in any circumstance.

Sam Shepherd is a singer/songwriter and instrumental guitarist from the Sunshine Coast.
In 2005 Sam won the ‘National young jazz/blues guitarist of the year’ award at Frankston international guitar festival. Since then he has worked and performed with some of the best musicians in the country such as: Diesel, Peter Cupples, Michael Fix, Bruce Mathiske, Ian Perez (Wolfmother) and Louie Shelton (The Jackson 5, John Lennon).
He graduated from Griffith University with a ‘Bachelor of Popular Music’in 2009 and in 2010 Sam co-wrote an instrumental piece entitled ‘Optimystical’ with Australian guitar legend Michael Fix which was a top 5 finalist in the Tamworth Golden Guitar awards.
In 2013 Sam was also the opening act for 'Diesel' on the Sunshine Coast and in early 2014 Sam was the only Australian who made it to the finals of Lee Ritenour's 'Six String Theory' guitar competitions.
In early 2015 Sam was awarded a scholarship to attend the 'Australian Academy of Country Music' in Tamworth.
Sam’s unique playing style draws from a wide range of influences. Jazz, country and everything in between, Sam plays it all, blending styles to make a sound that’s uniquely his own.
He’s currently working on his new CD while he enjoys the peace and tranquillity of the rolling hills of Maleny.
