The overall aim of the course is to equip you with a basic overview of the French language. This foundation course is designed for those with little or no previous knowledge of the French language.
The course emphasises pronunciation, so every word used in a lesson is taught using the English script. The course teaches you the fundamentals using which you can learn French further.
This course will help you acquire a solid foundation of the language; you are expected to have at this level to express yourself confidently.
On successful completion of the course you will be able to:
1. Know and pronounce vocabulary for use in written and spoken French as appropriate at the current level
2. Advance your French language skills using the knowledge acquired from this French foundation course

My name is Aarti Iyer and my relationship with French started as a student at the Alliance Française, 20 years ago. I have been a French translator and teacher ever since.
I represented India in France, an experience that cemented my love for the French language. This love has taken me through the seas of translation, teaching and interpretation of the French language.
I have a post-graduation in French, a Masters degree in Human Resources and a post-graduation in communication. I speak basic Spanish and Japanese.
My interests include - trying new technology, music, the French language, and reading books; my favourite is ‘Man's Search For Meaning’ by Viktor Frankl.
My day job includes teaching French and I spend the rest of my time with my family.
