This step-by-step 30 minute course will show you how to quickly and effectively install a 3CX software based PBX phone system. We will use a very simple hosting platform to install the 3CX software onto a Linux cloud server. Finally we will install a softphone to allow internal calls to be made.
This video lecture will show you how to install the 3Cx software on to your Linux server. There are four simple commands needed which I have listed below so they can be copy and pasted when needed.
Here are the four Linux commands:
wget -O- http://downloads.3cx.com/downloads/3cxpbx/public.key | apt-key add -
echo "deb http://downloads.3cx.com/downloads/3cxpbx/ /" | tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/3cxpbx.list
apt-get install 3cxpbx
3CX comes with an excellent softphone that is considered by many of my colleagues, including myself, as the best in the industry. A softphone by the way is simply a 'software telephone', that can exist on your PC or MAC, and also on your phone, be it an android, iOS apple device or even a windows based phone.
This bonus lecture will explain what a SIP trunk is, and how it can be connected to your 3CX phone system. This will then allow for your 3CX phone system to make and receive calls with the public telephone network, so you can talk with the world!
