I love watching movies, and I love analyzing and studying them even more. As the author of more than a dozen books including "Microsoft Office For Dummies," I enjoy explaining complex topics in simple language that anyone can understand. 

My goal is to identify the key ingredients that separates a great movie from a good (or even bad) movie, and share my ideas with other aspiring screenwriters and story tellers. By combining my experience in computers with writing, I hope to teach others how to use technology to help them turn raw ideas into finely crafted stories that the whole world will want to enjoy.

Like you, I wanted to write screenplays but didn't know what to do. After more than a decade of fumbling around on my own, reading books, studying movies, and joining writing groups, I made steady progress. Eventually my scripts started placing in the quarter finals of multiple screenwriting contests. Then in 2023, I won first place in Scriptapalooza's 2023 screenwriting competition for my script, "Nightmares From a  Past Life."

This course contains everything I learned from starting as a nobody in Hollywood to winning first place in a major screenwriting competition. I can show you what I did right (so you can follow my success) and what I did wrong (so you can avoid making the same mistakes). Most importantly, I know what it's like to go from knowing nothing about screenwriting to winning a screenwriting competition. If I can do it, so can you.
