About me
On
June 30, 2011 Victor Milt, DGA was inducted into the Florida State
Film film program, as a Clio Award winning Florida Film Legend. This is his story.
Victor Milt's passion for photography began at the age of 10 when he got his first darkroom, and by the age of 22 he was shooting regular features for Glamour, Ingénue, McCall’s and Vogue, as well as industrial work for Levittown, Landis Tools, White Shield Petroleum, Grand Union and others.
Milt
can truly be called a child of the Madison Avenue Farm Team system.
He spent the last 30 years honing his advertising
skills in the halls of the greatest ad agencies in the world,
producing still and television advertising for the Fortune 500. His
agency clientele lists Doyle/ Dane, Foote Cone, Ogilvy, J. Walter
Thompson, Wm Esty, Wunderman, Young & Rubicam, Wells/Rich and
Greene among many others. His corporate accounts include AT&T, US
Air Force, Colgate, GE, Honeywell, Sears, Reader’s Digest, TV
Guide, Cadbury, Schweppes, McDonalds, Burger King, and dozens of
others.
Milt’s rendering of Juan Valdez leading his saddle-bagged donkey through the Columbian coffee fields is a national icon. Aim High - Air Force; Bugs Check In but they Don't Check Out; Schweppervescence; the Double Deodorant Soap; these are but a few of the words that Milt has implanted in the national subconscious.
Along the way, Milt has won numerous awards, including a Clio, Cindy’s, Telly's, Cine Golden Eagles and dozens of national and international film festival awards. His work was featured in an eight-page cover article in AV Video Magazine, and he has lectured every year at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) on directing, lighting and production techniques.
He has created over 500 commercials and sales films, many of which are classics in the industry. His work for Time Magazine includes “Kennedy”, the most successful direct response spot in the history of Time Warner. His “Led Zeppelin” commercial grossed over $70 million dollars, making it one of the most successful music commercials ever.
In 2005, Victor created the "Light It Right Series"; three "how-to" DVDs for professionals. The three classes cover basic and advanced lighting, camera and directing techniques. The Light It Right series has inspired thousands of professional cinematographers around the world. It is available on Amazon and at B&H Photo .
His
recent documentaries, "Cowboys of Florida", and "Cracker-
the last cowboys of Florida" have been featured selections in
over 20 national film festivals. Together, the films won over a dozen
national awards.. "Cowboys" premiered at the Palm Beach
International Film Festival was selected as a finalist in competition
over 350 other documentaries. "Cracker" opened the
Jacksonville International and won three "best film" and
two "director's choice" awards in various festivals.
Now Milt has returned to commercial and corporate services.
Teaming with the staff at interActive publishing inc. in Boca Raton, FL, he has once again led the way with his unique vision and skill set. Among other projects he worked for Patron Tequila. Patron regularly sent him out with both the LeMans racing team and the incomparable Alexis DeJoria driving the Patron Dragster autos.
Milt is still actively involved in commercial and video production.
