Tyra McEwen is a decorated U.S. Navy veteran that served her country during the 1990's Desert Storm war.  Later, Tyra became a sales and marketing professional with over 25 years of experience with fortune 500 companies such as Allstate, Peak Antifreeze and Nationwide Marketing Group to name a few. 

She is the creator of local North Carolina handmade skincare products “Misteeh Natural Skincare and The Body Scrub Bar body care brands. She is a Cosmetologist, blogger and founder of themelaninpot & beautyismyculture  lifestyle blogs where she shares perspectives of American Culture, politics, finance and romance as well as beauty tips and advice on living a holistic lifestyle.

In 2020 she wrote and produced the Udemy class Soul Food 101, The history and Origin of American Soul Food.  Then in 2021 Tyra Created a Podcast called Convos with ChiTwn Chics a Podcast that discusses relationships and lifestyle.
