I am Toofan Pourreza. I was born in 1974. I entered Fine Arts School where I studied Painting and got my diploma.
Getting acquainted with the foundations of Fine Arts as well as the history of art, I started to be familiar with almost all the artistic styles under the great art instructors of the Art School. Then I involved with working with different painting techniques such as; watercolor, collage, oil paint, composite, colored pencils, pastel, gouache, and acrylic. Among variety of subjects around, I have always been interested in the anatomy of humans’ head and body which I believe despite the order they have, there is a sort of complexity as well as the aesthetic evolution in their nature. Besides, I have the experience of working in the field of painting animals, scenery and also still nature.
I have been drawing and painting for about 30 years and since 1998 besides painting and drawing I have been working as a cartoonist to create caricatures and cartoons. For the recent 12 years I have been teaching it. I also have been working for press as a cartoonist to design and create different caricatures. For about two years now, I have mostly focused on digital arts.
I ought to mention that since I started working on cartoons, my painting style began to shift from realism to expressionism, surrealism, and to some extent action painting. The change could be felt when all my works in two different art galleries in 2015 had modern souls! However, in modernism I am merely looking for the influence of technique and not its content because I am keen on having my own conceptual contents in modern forms!
