I have presented at the highest levels in the UK including to HRH the Prince of Wales, Secretaries of State for Social Security , to HM Armed Forces in Hong Kong, Cyrus and Northern Ireland and countless other forums. I have pitched for and won funding worth tens of thousands of pounds including a year in an enterprise support centre, personal awards to travel abroad and money to support a Women’s Agricultural Cooperative in Nepal.
In 2002 I was awarded an O.B.E. for her work in reducing pensioner poverty and coaching and supporting women.
Following a very successful career in the UK Civil Service I became the classic olderpreneur, co-founding Chapter 3 Enterprise, a not for profit company at age 60 and have since gone on to set up 3 other companies, including another not for profit all aimed at utilising my considerable skills to help others.
I am an acknowledged expert on enterprise particularly as it concerns the over 50’s and social enterprise, appearing regularly on local radio to discuss current issues including mature enterprise, mature unemployment and age discrimination. My passion for enterprise extends to supporting the Jitpurphedi Women’s Agricultural Cooperative in Nepal for whom I raised £70,000 to support the construction of an woman's enterprise centre for them.
