Talia Wandrum went from caring for her grandmother who suffered from Parkinson's and Alzheimer's to pursuing dementia caregiving professionally. During her time interning at memory care facilities and working as a private caregiver, she saw the lack of proper dementia education in nurses and families that led to caregiver stress, burnout, and unhappy loved ones.
Her passion for the aging community and fire for understanding dementia led her to obtain a degree in social work and leadership as well as get certified as a CARES® Dementia Specialist™. Talia didn't stop there. She was on a mission to share with other families an easier way of caregiving. She partnered with caregivers, gerontologists, and nurses all over the country to create an easy-to-understand, life-changing dementia caregiver course.
In 2019, she started Dementia Care Advocates, a now worldwide community that is supporting and educating families on how to care for those with dementia efficiently, effectively, and passionately with their approach.
Talia loves working with the aging community and loves seeing positive changes in caregivers' lives. She is fulfilling her dream of working to change the world of gerontology. She is thankful for all the donors and supporters that have made this possible.
