The Stgilesmedical Team is proud to provide pro-bono support for various non-commercial education and research activities. Examples include looking after attached Imperial College London students, delivering a series patient-orientated meetings and managing a nationally-funded project looking at ways to optimize palliative care in the last 90 days of life (the HOLISTIC Study).
Since the start of the pandemic, Steven has been helping a group of some 30 organisations, charities and learned societies under the umbrella of the RCGP End of Life Care Think Tank in their efforts to optimize palliative care. This has culminated in the production of two acclaimed films. We are particularly proud of a film on the challenging topic of palliative care for people who are homeless
Stgilesmedical have also created an initiative called ‘Forgotten patients, overlooked diseases.’ Our multidisciplinary membership primarily from the UK and Germany is keen to support patients and their families who find themselves ‘lost’ by the healthcare system. They may have a rare but often swiftly identifiable disease. They may have a common, often straightforward to manage condition, but have been misdiagnosed or mislabelled. The aim of this group is to give these patients a voice.
