I learned how to build kites when I was about 9 years old watching other people. That was back in the 70's during the civil war in the old country. There was very few options for entertainment especially since electricity was only present few hours a week, so people had to make do with what's available.
Needless to say building kites and flying them was very exciting and can provide fun and all day long.
