Safiya Ibn Garba DTRF is a multi-award-winning practitioner with more than two decades of experience and expertise in conflict and peacebuilding, sustainable development with a focus on girls and women, learning and development, curriculum development and adaptation facilitation, gender and social inclusion, project management , mentoring , strategic planning, organisational development and management, change management, knowledge management, ,monitoring and evaluation, systems mapping and analysis, thought leadership and effective consultancy.

She is the founder of Empowering Women for Excellence Initiative (EWEI), Chair of Global Young Generation For Peace Development Initiative (GYDI), Convenor of the Kabilun Africa Think Tank and Principal Consultant at Safiya Ibn Garba DTRF.

She is a certified learning and development practitioner, endorsed facilitator and Desmond Tutu Reconciliation Fellow.
