About me
Hi, I’m Ronél ?
I help young people (and young-at-heart adults) build the life and emotional skills that school and university often skip — skills like emotional awareness, self-confidence, healthy boundaries, resilience, and meaningful connection with others.
My main focus is Emotional Intelligence (EQ), which I see as one of the most practical and preventative tools for life. When you understand your emotions, thoughts, and needs, you make better decisions, handle pressure more effectively, and build healthier relationships — personally and professionally.
I’ve been researching and facilitating EQ-based courses since 1998, working with individuals, students, professionals, and organisations. Over the years, participants have included managers, teachers, counsellors, psychologists, ministers, and many people simply wanting to grow and live more intentionally. The principles stay the same; the application is always personal.
Alongside my EQ courses, I also offer a more reflective course that explores the relationship between the Ego and the Higher Self. This course is for those who are curious about inner growth, self-leadership, and living with greater authenticity — without losing balance in everyday life. It’s practical, grounded, and aimed at helping you understand why you think, feel, and react the way you do.
I’m the co-author of several books, including True Self, True Connections (published January 2024), an updated, interactive workbook designed to help you actively apply what you learn. The fillable PDF allows you to reflect and work directly in the document, turning insight into real-world change.
My approach is supportive, honest, and practical. I believe growth happens best when learning feels safe, relevant, and human — not preachy or overwhelming.
At heart, my work is about compassion, self-understanding, and helping people build skills that will serve them for life. I also love writing and animals, and I’m deeply grateful every time I get to witness someone step into a more grounded, confident version of themselves.
