Robyn Kesnow
Speaker, Master Trainer, RVT and Founder of Animal RN
About me
Robyn Kesnow, RVT is the founder of Animal RN, an in-your-home pet care provider specializing in animal nursing and animal hospice services. Since 2007 Animal RN has grown from highly qualified pet sitting service to an invaluable asset for the community. Veterinarians rely on Animal RN services as an extension to their practice. Pet parents look to Animal RN for the time and attention not always possible in a clinic environment.
In 2009 Robyn teamed up with Dr. Amir Shanan DVM and colleagues to form the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care (IAAHPC). As a master in her field and industry leader in the arena of animal hospice and palliation Robyn’s been referred to as the “Midwife to the Afterlife.”
Teaching and consulting since she was 17, Robyn started with training corporate teams on communication, sales and productivity. She brings tactical and actionable information to each keynote and training. She’s a speaker who truly understands we’re looking for implementation, not just a good time at a conference. Since founding Animal RN, Robyn has presented on animal hospice and palliative care to numerous veterinary and veterinary technician students, including Sacramento’s Carrington College.
Robyn speaks, teaches and trains on topics relevant to animal hospice with a focus on specialties relevant in animal palliation, adding animal hospice services to an existing veterinary practice, and most recently on defining the Veterinary Technician role in Animal Hospice. Her 2018 textbook Animal Hospice For The Veterinary Technician is available in draft form while awaiting print.
As a lifelong learner, Robyn is always looking to grow and learn from the best minds and brightest people. Robyn has been mentored by Master Trainer and best selling author Dr. Ivan Misner. In addition to her constant learning in the areas of hospice and geriatric care for dogs and cats, for seven years Robyn studied behavioral styles from Room Full of Referrals Master Trainer and author Dawn Lyons.
After living 25 years in California, 18 of those in beautiful Sonoma County, Robyn considers herself a northern Californian at heart. Currently, she’s enjoying time closer to family in Pennsylvania. In her spare time, Robyn fills her day with music, healthy- foodie tendencies, an active lifestyle, travel – including mission work and her passion for ministry. While she’ll tell you she’s not athletic, she never turns down a pick-up volleyball game or a game of softball. She’ll joke that the efforts don’t show thanks to pizza and desserts, but she truly enjoys learning how to eat well. You can often find her researching personalized nutrition, how to reduce the chemicals in products, and sharing that information with anyone who will listen.
If you want to get Robyn talking, just ask her about the kids who stole her heart in South Africa, the love she’s experienced working with Royal Family Kids, or her first time seeing what she felt was an Acts 2 moment in the San Fransisco Tenderloin, working with City Impact.
‘Now all the believers were together and held all things in common. They sold their possessions and property and distributed the proceeds to all, as anyone had a need. Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple complex, and broke bread from house to house. They ate their food with a joyful and humble attitude, praising God and having favor with all the people. And every day the Lord added to them those who were being saved. ‘ Acts 2:44-47
