I completed a navy career in nuclear submarines prior to becoming a teacher.  I am certified in two states to teach math and science, two areas of study I am passionate about.  Although I have degrees in math and science, I often use my technical background and experiences to break down topics into easy and manageable bites of knowledge.  I teach the way I would have wanted to be taught when I was a student.
