Professor Tafrate is a licensed psychologist, senior faculty member, and former department chairperson at Central Connecticut State University. He earned his PhD from the Department of Psychology at Hofstra University and was in private practice in the New York City area for about 15 years.
Dr. Tafrate frequently consults with community agencies and private practices, and has trained thousands of professionals to work more effectively with adults with problems such as anger dysregulation and criminal behavior.
He has authored or co-authored numerous books, book chapters and scholarly articles on the topic of anger, and has presented his anger control program throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.
