Tekena Fubara is a Chartered Chemical Engineer, as well as a Chartered Process Safety Engineer. He has worked in a range of industries – energy, petrochemicals, offshore oil and gas, mid-stream gas processing, precious metal refining, academia, digital economy, and the public sector. He had his first degree in Chemical Engineering, a Masters in Process & Environmental Systems Engineering, an MBA, as well as a PhD in Sustainable Energy Systems. His areas of interest are energy techno-economics, energy modelling, energy efficiency, renewable energy integration, policy and strategy.
Tekena has been implementing a range of energy efficiency, environmental improvements and low carbon solutions across industry for over 15 years. He is a Member of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) Energy Centre's Board, Tekena also leads the Energy Resource Efficiency (ERE) task group within the IChemE.
Tekena is a senior executive of a global consulting firm, and is focused on driving sustainability through digital system across major global corporations. More recently, he was the Head of Applications Engineering at the Distributed Power Solutions Group within Doosan, and worked on a range of projects, as well-developed markets towards deploying fuel cell CHP technologies in the UK and the EU. Tekena was also an Industrial PhD Supervisor as part of the £6m EU Renewable Engine Project, focused on developing and driving cutting edge technological advances in renewable energy deployment especially in the digital techno-economic space. Tekena has also worked for other global corporations including Shell, Centrica, Vale and Indorama.
