About me
For the past 25 years Pearse has worked at various organizations such as BMO Capital Markets, FISGobal, Brown Brothers Harriman, Fidelity Investments (Ireland), SunLife Information Services, Information Mosaic (now S&P Global), Fidelity Investments (USA) as Principal Systems Analyst (Technology) where he was Project Lead from a Corporate Actions perspective for their T+2 Industry Initiative.
Throughout his career Pearse has gained a deep understanding of Corporate Actions from both an operations as we well as a software development perspective which enables him to bring a unique and distinct approach to teaching corporate actions.
His expertise crosses many Capital Markets sectors. For the past two decades he has been primarily focusing on Corporate Action related software development projects (system enhancements, new functionality as well as system integrations). Past and current functional roles include amongst others Project Lead & Business Systems Analyst. To Pearse each project is an exciting challenge and opportunity. He incorporates and encourages creativity and problem solving from all sides of the fence (business and technical) to bring strong software solutions to life.
Pearse has many success stories delivering Corporate Actions related software projects using the Scrum Framework as well as the traditional Waterfall (SDLC) model approach. He is a certified Scrum Master (CSM) as well as a certified scrum product owner (CSPO).
Pearse graduated from the National University of Ireland, University College Galway, Ireland with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics & Sociology. He also attended Northeastern University - Boston Massachusetts, USA where he earned a Computer Programming Certificate (Systems Analysis Track). In addition Pearse attained CBAP® (Certified Business Analysis Professional) accreditation status from the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) in 2013.
He also holds an Advanced Certificate in Global Securities Processing from the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investments.
More recently Pearse completed a MIT Professional Education Digital Plus Certificate Program in “Blockchain: Disruptive Technology”.
When asked how to sum up a Corporate Actions professional's workday he responds “It’s Stockbroker stress without the pay”.
