Mayumi Ogata is the Founder of Body Speech, a Presence Design Methodology, and a Global Speech Coach.
Body Speech was systematized from actor training and ove 40 years of stage experience. Rather than focusing on speaking techniques alone, it helps people cultivate the state before they speak, align body, words, and intention, and communicate with greater trust, presence, and influence.
With over 40 years of stage experience across 19 cities and 5 countries, she combines acting techniques, performance psychology, body awareness, and leadership communication to help people speak in a way that feels authentic, grounded, and deeply human.
Over the past 18 years, she has trained and coached more than 7,000 individuals, including executives, TEDx speakers, educators, entrepreneurs, and next-generation leaders. Her work focuses not only on what people say, but on the state they are in before they speak — because people respond to presence before words.
In addition to coaching public speaking and communication, she also directs TEDx speaker performances and teaches expression, presence, and global nonverbal communication at schools and universities in Japan and internationally.
She has spoken internationally, including at a World Economic Forum-related summit in India twice and as a keynote speaker for International Women’s Day events in Paris in 2025.
Her philosophy is simple:
People are not remembered only for their words — but for how they made others feel in their presence.
Through Body Speech, a Presence Design Methodology founded by Mayumi Ogata, she helps people align body, words, and intention, cultivate the state before they speak, and communicate with greater trust, presence, and influence.
