Nisal is a rogue SaaS engineer with a background in economics. He co founded Paladin Analytics and Rooster, growing multiple tech teams from one-person operations into enterprise SaaS companies. He designs and manages much of Watchdog's tech infrastructure, including moonshots.

Nisal co-founded Watchdog together with Yudhanjaya Wijeratne and Bhanuka Harischandra to respond to the tsunami of misinformation that permeated digital and traditional media in the aftermath of the 2019 Easter Sunday bombings in Sri Lanka. Nisal is currently developing a series of AI enhanced knowledge management platforms, which build on our experiences in combating misinformation and data-driven journalism at Team Watchdog.
