Dr Nevine Nasser is a London-based architect exploring the relationship between sacred space and spiritual experience. Through research and practice Nevine aims to reclaim the transformative quality of sacred architecture in contemporary contexts, creating designs that embody authenticity and depth of meaning.
Nevine studied classic examples of Islamic sacred architecture for ten years, gaining understanding of how the principles of traditional art and architecture embodied by sacred geometry reflect the order of nature and ultimately the divine order. Nevine gained practical experience of sacred geometry and its contemplative, transformative nature at the Prince’s School of Traditional Arts in London, where she completed doctoral research.
She continues to explore the correlations between creative and spiritual knowledge through her academic work and her architectural practice. Her work has been recognised by HRH King Charles II and has been published widely.
Nevine is also a director of the Architecture, Culture and Spirituality Forum and a trustee of the School of Sufi Teaching. She is a practising Sufi.
