Muhammad Sabir is a professor of economics and a seasoned researcher in the area of applied economics, boasting an impressive track record of over 14 years in the field. He works at the GIK School of Management Sciences, Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, Topi, Swabi, KP, Pakistan.

Before joining GIK Institute, Prof. Sabir served as a Professor of Economics and also held the role of Head of Research at NUST Business School, a part of the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, Pakistan. He also had worked for GIK Institute in past (as head of the Department of Management Sciences) and at the Planning Commission, Government of Pakistan, Islamabad as a part of the Economist Group.

Prof. Sabir holds a PhD in Applied Economics from Vrije University Amsterdam in the Netherlands, a master’s in applied sciences (MAS) from the Applied Economics Research Center (AERC) at the University of Karachi, and a master’s in economics from the Department of Economics, the University of Peshawar. He also holds a postgraduate diploma in business administration and a master's in operations and supply chain management from Virtual University of Pakistan.

Prof. Sabir started full-time teaching since year 2013. He has excellent teaching records while teaching engineering and management students both at the graduate and undergraduate levels. His dedication to teaching excellence is evident through his recognition as the best teacher for the academic year 2016 at GIK Institute. He also has been engaged in various kinds of training on research for professionals.
