He has an extensive background in planning and managing cross-functional business operations and projects. He is an analytical and a conceptual thinker who effectively partners with senior management teams to assess opportunities, facilitate strategic decisions, and drive successful implementations.

Modafar’s aspirations to continuous improvement and deep believe in the importance on Future thinking had led him to accept a challenging role to establish DEWA's (Dubai Electricity and Water Authority) first Future Shaping Center which aims at bringing and developing best practices in the field of future foresight and shaping that includes future trends and signals monitoring and analysis, cross impact analysis, developing future scenarios, exploring mid-far future growth opportunities, building internal organizational capabilities so everyone can understand, appreciate the importance and utilize foresight methodologies in their field.

He has founded “Emkan Futures” aiming at spreading futures studies in the MENA region and increasing arabic resources in the field. “Emkan Futures” consist of different tracks, a website that provides futures thinking-related resources, and a future trends database to inform users on emerging signals of change across STEEP domains. And a podcast, where Modafar hosts world-known futurists and experts to discuss topics ranging from futures thinking importance to the future of humanity and stellar exploration.

Modafar is a doctorate of business management in Future Foresight and Innovation Management, a masters in wireless communication engineering, and holds tens of professional accreditations and memberships.
