Mitsutoshi Taniguchi Founder and Director, Japan Body Care Academy
Mitsutoshi Taniguchi is a Japanese Meridian Wellness educator and international speaker with over 25 years of experience in professional bodywork education and more than four decades of clinical involvement in traditional East Asian medicine.
He began working in clinical settings at the age of 18 while attending professional school, and after obtaining his licenses, spent nearly 40 years practicing directly in the field. In 1999, he founded the Japan Body Care Academy, where he has trained and mentored therapists and instructors for over 25 years.
He has represented Japan in international professional settings, including speaking engagements at CIDESCO events and corporate lectures for global organizations such as Airbus in France. In Japan, he has provided technical training and seminars for major cosmetic and healthcare companies including Mandom, Max Factor, Sunstar, Takara Belmont, and L’Oréal Japan.
Today, his work focuses on education rather than clinical practice. He specializes in shiatsu-based techniques, meridian theory, and meridian meditation — a breathing and awareness practice rooted in East Asian medical principles designed to support nervous system regulation, sleep quality, and mental clarity.
He developed an educational framework known as Meridian Wellness, integrating traditional Japanese meridian theory with modern stress management and self-care systems for global learners.
His teaching emphasizes depth, simplicity, and sustainability, helping learners understand core principles that can be applied repeatedly in both professional practice and daily life.
Through his courses, he aims to make authentic Japanese meridian-based self-care accessible across cultures and generations.
