Martin King
Process Chiller / Refrigeration Instructor
About me
I am an industry-leading process chiller and refrigeration systems designer, author, US Patent holder, business owner, and consultant.
I have 30+ years of experience strategically developing, implementing, and positively influencing commercial and industrial HVACR service operations and process chiller manufacturing.
Starting my own small residential HVAC business in 1986, known as (King Air Conditioning, Inc) my company grew to a multimillion-dollar commercial HVACR service and installation business located in San Jose, CA.
In 1997, I started a small process chiller design and manufacturing company building OEM process chillers for Hewlett Packard's digital IC testing division. By early 1998, the company that would eventually be known as Legacy Chiller Systems, Inc. was born.
With HVACR contracting and process chiller manufacturing under one roof, my two companies proliferated into many different markets as our clients at the time liked the one-stop-shop solution we created.
In just a few years, we had amassed process chiller manufacturing and system installation opportunities in the public and private sectors.
Public sector clients included: The US Navy, US Air Force, US Army.
Private sector clients included: Intel, HP, IBM, Agilent Technologies.
Eventually, our process chiller manufacturing outgrew the HVACR contracting side, so in 2001, I sold King Air Condition, Inc. to one of our local competitors.
In June of 2021, after running Legacy Chiller Systems, Inc. for over twenty years, I sold the business to J&M Fluidics (Telford, PA) to spend more time with my wife, who has been through it all with me (thick and thin) for over 30 years and persue my long term passion of teaching.
In January of 2021, my new venture, Process Chiller Academy, was born.
As of this writing in March of 2021, we are developing our online course curriculum and currently upgrading a Basic Refrigeration Course published online in 2017.
